This will teach you how to edit out the annoying advertisements that AIM displays. This will also speed up your connection since you aren't downloading the images.

Go to: My Computer > C Drive >Program Files > AIM95

Look for a file called aim.odl, right click on it, go to properties, uncheck the box that says "Read-only".

Now open the file with notepad. Scroll down to where you see this:

on_group(5)
{
load_ocm advert required
}
on_group(11)
{
load_ocm advert required
}

Then change it to this:

on_group(5)
{
}
on_group(11)
{
}

Now save the file and you're done.
